Sharpe is a series that stars Sean Bean as Richard Sharpe. A charismatic and handsome officer in the British Army set during the Napoleonic Wars. There are 14 episode movies out currently. The movies are based on a series of novels by author Bernard Cornwell.

Richard Sharpe is a maverick British officer who rises through the ranks in Wellingtons Army, initially after saving Wellingtons life. His subsequent promotions are due to his daring and courageous exploits.The Sharpe Series is set during the 19th Century Napoleonic Peninsular wars, in the midst of the desperate battles and missions of these conflicts.

The series is based on the best selling Sharpe novels written by Bernard Cornwell. However, not all the novels have been filmed. There are novels relating to events before and after the films. The Sharpe novels from the earlier period are concerned with British Army action in India. (1799 - 1803) Bernard Cornwell has now started writing novels which help to "fill in" the missing chapters in Sharpe's life. Namely the period between shipping out from India and the action depicted in Sharpe's Rifles. "Sharpe's Trafalgar" is concerned with Sharpe's adventures during his return to England in 1805 to join the newly formed Green Jackets. As the title suggests Sharpe finds himself fighting during the Battle of Trafalgar! Sharpe's Prey, is set during 1807 and Sharpe finds himself in Copenhagen and involved in a desperate siege to stop Napoleon's forces from seizing the Danish Fleet. © Lynn
